The Lorraine and Bill Dodero Center for Performing Arts is Gilmour’s footprint for the future for advancing student engagement and expression through the arts.
Among its many offerings, The Lorraine and Bill Dodero Center for Performing Arts includes a main stage theater, studio theater, practice rooms and exhibition spaces.
The theater program has a home for all components of a robust drama program including a larger stage than Gilmour's former theater, costume and scene shops, and practice rooms. This provides for higher numbers of students from the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools to participate as actors, dancer, playwrights, theater technicians and musicians.
The Speech and Debate program has designated space, allowing the program to expand and to welcome national tournaments to Gilmour’s campus.
Gilmour’s Music Program positions itself to provide each student with the opportunity to develop his or her musical talents. Within the new Center, Gilmour students will be encouraged and able to share their talents with each other and with the greater community.
Some of the opportunities the new space allows for includes hosting playwriting competitions, summer arts enrichment programs, partnerships to host community arts programs and events and programs for talented student thespians.
