Rooted in our Holy Cross tradition, we strive to make a Gilmour education a reality for all qualified students.
We know that an enriching educational experience may feel out of reach for many families. But, through our generous tuition assistance program, Gilmour partners with families to help make the Gilmour experience a reality. We are committed to enrolling students from a diverse range of socioeconomic backgrounds and have families at every income level receiving assistance because each family’s circumstances are unique.

“
We are big believers in the impact of a Catholic education. We are well aware of the opportunities that are made possible in an independent school environment. But those come with a pretty steep price tag and, as a family of five, we didn’t think we’d be able to afford it. We were hesitant to have our daughter begin the process at Gilmour because we just didn’t think it was going to be an option for us financially and we knew she’d fall in love with the school once she saw it. But Gilmour worked with us and took into account all our circumstances, and we ended up in a place that was realistic for our family. To be able to provide our daughters with those independent school opportunities within a Catholic setting is something we never thought possible. We have both of our daughters at Gilmour now and we couldn’t be more thrilled with each of their unique experiences.

  • Merit-Based Awards

All new students entering Grades 7 and 9 and all students matriculating from our Lower to Middle and Middle to Upper Schools will be considered for merit-based awards. The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) scores, transcripts, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities and application essays are used to determine award recipients. We have two specifically named merit awards.

    EXCEL AWARD
Gilmour will award Excel Awards ($27,500 yearly) to seventh and ninth graders who demonstrate leadership traits and excel on the ISEE exam, averaging in the 93rd percentile or above.

    INSPIRE AWARD
Inspire Awards ($2,500 - $25,000 yearly) are granted to those well-rounded students who demonstrate high academic achievement, average in the 65th percentile or above on the ISEE, are involved in extracurriculars, and serve as role models and a source of inspiration for their peers.

To qualify for the Excel or Inspire Award, students must have taken the ISEE by the application deadline.

CURRENT GILMOUR STUDENTS APPLYING FOR MERIT AWARDS
Current Gilmour students matriculating from our Lower to Middle and Middle to Upper Schools are eligible for the Excel Award and the Inspire Award. To qualify, students must have taken the ISEE by the January 14, 2022 application deadline.
  • Need-Based Awards

Need-based awards are available for students in Grades Kindergarten-12 and vary according to each family’s demonstrated need and specific circumstances. Montessori Toddlers and PreK students are not eligible for need-based awards. In past years, Gilmour has provided awards ranging from $1,000 to full tuition. Generally, a recipient can expect a renewal of the initial award if the student remains in good academic, behavioral and financial standing, and the family’s financial status remains consistent.

    GRANTS
These are funded solely by the Academy to assist families with tuition.

    RESTRICTED AND ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS
These are donor-funded scholarships available to students who meet unique criteria for qualifying. They are renewable each year provided the student continues to meet the stated scholarship requirements.
