  • First Week of Homework Club a Big Success

We are excited to announce that we had an awesome first week of Homework Club at the Lower School. We had several Upper School students working with our K-6th graders on their school work. It was great to see how excited the Lower School students were to have help from the older students at Gilmour.

Homework Club is offered Monday-Thursday after school from 3:30- 4 p.m. in the Lower School Library! If you are interested in having your Lower School student participate, please have them fill out the permission form and return it to Mrs. Chiellino at the Lower School.
  • Be Kind and Stick Together

On Monday, February 4, Lower School students along with juniors from the Upper School, took the pledge to "Be Kind and Stick Together against Bullying."

This important message was shared with our students:

Duck Tape is proud to be a part of Bullying Prevention in schools and has partnered with Project Love and PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center to share a strong message that the end of bullying starts with you! If each of us agrees to support each other and stick together, we can stop bullying. We want you to pledge to stick together against bullying and to stand up for what is right. When you stick together, you are just like pieces of Duck Tape-strong and powerful!
The students took the following Pledge:
    Stick together against bullying
Stop hurtful teasing and encourage others to do the same
Do my part to make my school a safe place by being kinder to others
Not let my words or actions hurt other
Treat others the way I want to be treated
Next time you are in the Lower School, check out our banner hanging in the Dining Hall!
  • Chinese New Year

Mrs. Russell‘s Montessori class celebrated Chinese New Year by learning about the customs of the holiday. The students cooked and ate traditional Chinese food, crafted and then paraded around the school to spread good luck to everyone. The celebration ended with the children creating their own fireworks.
