Hospitality

At Gilmour, hospitality is more than a welcome. It begins with truly seeing others, recognizing their inherent dignity and being open to what that asks of us.

Our theme for the 2026-27 school year, Hospitality: Living the Competence to SeeHospitality: Living the Competence to See, invites us to move from information to formation to transformation. We must open our eyes to the people and world around us, looking beyond what is immediately visible to understand the whole person. What we come to see should then move us to act.

The wording is intentional. We are not simply living with the competence to see. We are called to live it, carrying that spirit of hospitality into our everyday encounters and relationships.

That is how hospitality takes root in our Holy Cross community. It is present in the way we welcome others, the relationships we build and the choices we make in response to what we see.
