Service and spirituality extend far beyond the walls of the classroom at Gilmour Academy with trips that strengthen moral formation, leadership, responsibility and cultural competency.

Retreats
- Retreats are built into the required curriculum at every grade level, giving students the opportunity to remove themselves from everyday routines to connect, reflect and pray. Highlights include:
- Grade 9: Two-day experience at Hiram Camp, including high ropes course challenge
- Grade 10: University of Notre Dame retreat to interact with members of the ND community and connect with GA alumni
- Grade 11: Overnight Kairos spirituality retreat
- Grade 12: Reflective leadership retreat experience to start the senior year

Immersions
- Students in Grades 9-12 are eligible for all of our immersion trips, except for the Arizona trip, which is for seniors only. We do give priority to seniors on immersion trips but students in Grade 9 can participate.
- Immersion trips get 40 hours of service granted (except Oberlin which is only a day trip). There is an additional seven hours granted for a mandatory pre-trip retreat and two 1-hour follow-up classes, which are also required.
- Students in Grades 9-12 are eligible for all of our immersion trips, except for the Arizona trip, which is for seniors only. We do give priority to seniors on immersion trips but students in Grade 9 can participate.
