Senior Earns Red Cross Scolarship

Gilmour Academy’s commitment to service and community impact was on full display this year through its student-led blood drive program. With a total of 36 units of blood collected, the school qualified for a scholarship to be awarded to a deserving senior who has demonstrated outstanding involvement in the initiative.

The scholarship is awarded to a student who plans to continue their education at an accredited two-year, four-year, or professional trade school, and who has played an active role in the school’s blood drive efforts. Recipients are recognized not only for participation, but for leadership in organizing, promoting, and supporting blood drives, and are encouraged to continue this life-saving work in college.

This year’s recipient, Piper Wick ‘26, exemplifies these qualities through her sustained dedication over the course of her high school career. A volunteer since her freshman year, Piper has also donated blood three times since her sophomore year. She has been deeply involved in every facet of the program, including recruitment, promotion, and day-of coordination, often taking on multiple roles while also contributing as a donor herself.

In recognition of her exceptional commitment and leadership, Piper Wick has been awarded the scholarship to support her continued education.
