Moonshots Represent Gilmour at State Robotics Championship
Gilmour Academy’s robotics team, the Moonshots, competed at the 2026 Ohio FTC Championship in Troy, representing the school alongside 38 of the top teams in the state.
Facing hardware challenges that impacted their performance during qualification matches, the Moonshots showed resilience by competing in all five rounds and posting a high score of 144 points. Despite the setbacks, the team remained focused and continued to adapt throughout the competition.
Beyond the results, the championship provided valuable experience, allowing students to collaborate with and learn from some of the strongest robotics programs in Ohio. The event also offered opportunities to build connections and further develop their skills in a highly competitive environment.
After earning their place at the state championship, the Moonshots are already looking ahead with determination and excitement for the next season.
