Gilmour Figure Skating Shines at State Championships

Gilmour Academy’s figure skating team delivered an impressive performance at the Ohio Team High School Championships, highlighted by a first-place finish in the Team Mini Production event. The winning team—Abby Gourley '29, Sara Pandya '29, Emily Stickle '28, Avani Wenzel '31, Maddy Murray '29 and Addison Zellers '29—showcased strong teamwork and precision to earn the top spot.
 
Individually, the Lancers continued their success across multiple events. Addison Zellers led the way with first-place finishes in Juvenile Solo Free Dance, Pre-Silver Solo Pattern Dance and Excel Juvenile Plus Free Skate, while also placing fifth in Juvenile/Intermediate Character Showcase. Maddy Murray earned a second-place finish in Juvenile Solo Free Dance and Preliminary/Pre-Juvenile Interpretive, along with a fifth-place finish in Preliminary/Pre-Juvenile Character Showcase.
 
Abby Gourley added a third-place finish in Pre-Silver Solo Pattern Dance, a fourth-place finish in Excel Intermediate Plus Free Skate and a fifth-place finish in Juvenile/Intermediate Interpretive. Emily Stickle secured third place in Excel Intermediate Plus Free Skate, and Sara Pandya placed fifth in Preliminary Solo Pattern Dance.
 
With a strong combination of team and individual success, the Lancers demonstrated their depth and talent on the state stage. Congratulations to these student-athletes on an outstanding showing at the championships.
