Maya Moufawad ’21 has always loved art. So, in the summer of 2018, she decided to teach herself how to draw on an iPad. She then decided to turn her artwork into stickers that she could sell online. All of her designs can be found on her redbubble webpage. Since starting, Maya has made 3,060 sales around the world and has earned more than $2,000.
As she learned more and more about the impact of COVID-19, Maya wanted to do something to help. She decided to donate her art sales profits to the Cleveland Clinic and Rainbow Babies. She even added three new designs to her site, with proceeds going directly to the Cleveland Clinic. Last week, Maya donated $1,000 to the Cleveland Clinic to fund supplies and research for COVID-19 and $1,000 to Rainbow Babies to use for their greatest need.
Maya is contemplating a career in medicine down the road. Regardless of what career path she ultimately follows, she knows that she wants to do something to help others. This seems like a terrific start! Thank you, Maya, for having the competence to see and the courage to act!
