Coordinator of Academic Technology Dan Adiletta is offering a 90-minute workshop to prepare new students on how to use all of their tools and online resources. Students will be independently following a training guide while a support person helps the group out with any technical issues. This is an optional training session to help familiarize students with the basic software used at Gilmour Academy.
We're offering ten different time slots, all for the same technology orientation session. We ask that all students bring their laptops. Students will walk out of the session knowing about advanced features on everything from their email client to their classroom portal. Sessions max out at 12 students each so they'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions about school technology policy or computer science classes.
After 10 a.m. If you are driving to campus, we will have students available to help you move in. Food will be provided throughout the day in the Residence Hall.
All students entering Grade 7 (and their parents) and all new students entering Grade 8 (and their parents) should mark their calendar for Middle School Orientation.
On Friday, August 20, we will welcome back all of our families for a back-to-school event at the Lower School. Starting at 5 p.m., families are invited to come into the school, find their classrooms, briefly meet their teachers and even check out their locker space! Following the meet-and-greet, we invite you to join us for an outdoor cookout starting at 5:30 p.m. We hope that you are able to join us! Please be sure to RSVP with Lois Boyer at boyerl@gilmour.org. In the event of inclement weather, we will still invite you to join us for the meet-and-greet, but will in all likelihood cancel the cookout portion of the event.
Outside The Lorraine and Bill Dodero Center for Performing Arts
Sponsored by the Women’s Club, this event is for all moms/female guardians on the first day of school. Even if you only have time for a quick hello, please stop by and grab a cup of coffee. We will have a tent set up outside of The Lorraine and Bill Dodero Center for Performing Arts. Please note that in the event of rain, the event will be canceled.
