Senior Named a LLS Student Visionary of the Year

Congratulations to Jacob Lowery ’23, who was recently recognized as one of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2023 Student Visionaries of the Year for his fundraising efforts on the organization’s behalf. Over the course of seven weeks, Jacob raised awareness of blood cancers and he and team generated $6,982, which will go toward blood cancer research. He became involved in honor of his grandfather, who lost his battle with lymphoma in 2015.

Jacob will attend Ohio Wesleyan University this fall, where, as an extension of his work as co-founder of the student-run Sip ’O Som coffee shop and this fundraising campaign, he plans to study business administration and possibly minor in management economics. He will also play baseball for the school.
