Varsity Hockey Begins Postseason with Win Over Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin; In Sectional Semifinals, Team Loses Close One to Mentor

The varsity boys hockey team began the postseason with a 9-0 win against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin in the sectional semifinals. Kessel Richards '21 scored two goals to lead the offense as Payton Wetzel '18 (pictured) earned the shutout in net.
 
In the sectional finals last night against Mentor, the team lost a heartbreaker with a final score of 3-2. The team finished their tremendous season with a 26-8-3 overall record.
 
The Varsity B hockey team went 1-1-1 this past week with the lone win against Shaker Heights 7-3. Dylan Wharton '19 had two goals, while Robbie Belknap '21 earned the win in net. The team will now play in the JV State Championship at Winterhurst. Pool play begins Friday with the winner of each of the three pools and one at-large team advancing.
