Boys Basketball Beats Hawken, Loses to Walsh as Kirincic Surpasses Career Scoring Record; Opens Post-Season Play at Home on March 2

The varsity boys basketball team went 1-1 last week with a win against Hawken and a loss to Walsh Jesuit. In the win, CJ Charleston '19 (pictured) led the team with 24 points and seven assists, while Dechlan Kirincic '18 recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. He also had five assists. Connor O'Toole '20 had a hot hand, scoring 20 points, including five 3-pointers. Against Walsh, Kirincic had 21 points and 10 rebounds as he surpassed the career scoring record on file, set by David Linane '13 at 1,079 points. O'Toole had another outstanding shooting effort with 17 points and five 3-pointers. Charleston totaled 12 points and four assists. Charleston is featured on the latest High School Sports Insider. Watch it online today!  The Lancers earned a No. 1 seed in the Stow-Munroe Falls District, earning the right to host a sectional final game on March 2 at 7 p.m. against the winner of the Streetsboro-East game.
