Varsity A Hockey

Congratulations to the Varsity A hockey team, which went a perfect 4-0 this past weekend to earn the title of champions at the 18th Annual Brother James Memorial Tournament. The Lancers defeated St. Francis de Sales 4-0, Bethel Park (Pa.) 5-1, Team Indiana (Ind.) 3-0, and North Allegheny (Pa.), 3-0. 

Eamonn Mulkern '19
 earned the Tony Asher Most Valuable Player Award and Charlie Valenti '19 earned the Brother Robert Lavelle Sportsmanship Award. Gilmour had nine different players record goals in the tournament, including Evan Enrich '19, who led the team with four while recording the team's first-ever hat trick of the season in the victory against Bethel Park. With the wins this past weekend, Gilmour improved to 16-1-2 overall. They are currently ranked number one in the OHSAA Week Four State Poll as well as the News-Herald Top of the Crop. 
 
Weekend Plans: The Lancers are at home this weekend in GLHL action as they host Shaker Heights on Friday at 7:50 p.m. and then welcome St. Edward at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
