Girls Soccer

The varsity girls soccer team finished the regular season with an overall record of 10-3-3. The Lancers tied for second in their inaugural season in the North Coast League (NCL) Blue Division. Gilmour had 12 players receive All-Conference honors, including First Team picks Annie Greene '19Cora Grunden '19 and Julia Pangonis '21, Second Team selections Allie Mullee '19Kacie McPeek '19 and Madison Olsen '20, and Honorable Mention honorees Kendra Barlow '20, Emma Adams '21Molly Boyle '21Abby Minello '22 and Alexys Foster '19.
 
The Lancers were voted the No. 1 seed in the OHSAA Division II Mentor Sectional/District Tournament and earned a first-round bye. Gilmour defeated Beaumont, 6-0 in the sectional finals yesterday to earn the sectional championship and the right to advance to the district tournament. Molly Boyle '21 recorded a hat trick to lead the Lancers to victory. Gilmour now plays next in the district semifinals against the winner between West Geauga and Geneva. The game will be played in Gilmour's Weber Stadium on Monday, Oct. 22 at 4:30 p.m. Fans planning to attend the tournament game at Gilmour are reminded that Gilmour Family Athletic Passes are not valid for free admission to any postseason match, even those held on campus. This is in accordance with OHSAA regulations. Tickets will only be sold at the gate, which will open one hour prior to the first match start time. Here is the complete tournament bracket.
 
The junior varsity girls soccer team finished its season with a 1-7-3 record. The team dealt with a lot of injuries this year, but continued to play hard all season. There was noted improvement from all players on the roster. The captains of the team - Anna Martin '21Reese Fedele '21 and Maggie Grunden '21, did a great job leading the team all year.
