Boys Soccer
The varsity boys soccer team went 1-1 last week, losing to Lake Catholic 2-0 before defeating Chardon 3-0. Alexander Beedles '22 scored his fourth goal of the season and is the current team leader in the category. Captain Vinny Catanese '19 scored his first goal of the season, while Bowden Slabe '20 had one goal and one assist. With the shutout, goalie Matt Beck '21 (pictured) brought his season total to two shutout wins and 70 saves. On the other end of the field, the duo of Carmen DeSantis '19 and Carter DiVincenzo '19 continue to anchor the defensive unit. The varsity team then went on to defeat Padua 2-0 this week with goals courtesy of Catanese and Slabe. Max Mendels '19 assisted on both. Beck totaled four saves in the win.
The junior varsity boys soccer team tied Lake Catholic last week 1-1. Michael Tippen '22 scored both goals for the Lancers with assists coming from Dylan Noall '20 and Will Habe '20. The team then lost a close one to Padua 1-0 on a penalty kick late in the game.
Weekend Plans: The Lancers are off this weekend and will resume play on Tuesday, October 2 with a home game against Walsh Jesuit at 5 p.m.
