Girls Lacrosse Goes 3-1 This Week

The varsity girls lacrosse team improved to 6-4 on the season after going 3-1 this past week. The Lancers defeated Lake Catholic, Brecksville-Broadview Heights and Westlake, while losing a close match to St. Joseph Academy. The team saw a lot of players step it up during a tough four-game week to show how much improvement the team continues to make. Izzy Aerni '18 and Jordan Nolan '19 continue to dominate the midfield and draw control. Ellie Heller '19 and Katelyn Hanchin '20 are doing a great job on attack and Kirstin Grady '18 and Maddy Hillard '18 are staying tough on defense. Goalie Claudia Winslett '18 (pictured) is playing big in the net, helping the Lancers remain competitive in each game.

Against Brecksville, the Lancers played a JV half which gave a good amount of exposure to all players. Great efforts came from Meaghan Stack '21 and Emma Adams '21 on attack, while great defense was played by Laya Saleh '21 and Abby Meyers '21. Heller tended the net and earned three saves.
