David M. Corvi ’03 is a leadership coach at the Lynch Leadership Academy at Boston College and author of Fix Your Tier 1 Instruction (Routledge, 2026). A former teacher and school principal, he coaches leaders across sectors on how to develop the people they lead.

David has spent more than 15 years as an educator and leader, serving as a teacher, athletic coach, dean, principal and consultant, often in some of the nation's most underserved communities. A Teach For America alumnus, he has dedicated much of his career to advancing educational equity and helping leaders create environments where others can succeed.

His latest book, Fix Your Tier 1 Instruction, focuses on improving classroom instruction and student learning. He is currently writing his next book, Leadership Is Teaching. It Always Has Been., which explores how the principles of effective teaching apply to organizational leadership across business, nonprofit, healthcare, military, athletic and educational settings.

At Gilmour's Speaker Series on November 6, David will present "Leading Is Teaching," drawing on lessons from six influential historical figures, including Confucius, Frederick Douglass and Maria Montessori. He will explore why the most effective leaders are often teachers first and share five essential conditions for helping others grow: clarity, challenge, safety, feedback and relevance. Attendees will gain practical strategies for developing the people they lead, regardless of their profession or industry.

David is also the author of Dear Charlie...Letters to My Son and has remained connected to Gilmour as a former assistant coach of the boys soccer team.
