Spring Break Recaps

Over spring break, our students stepped out of the classroom and into experiences that challenged their perspectives, deepened their faith and strengthened their commitment to serving others. From hands-on service to cultural immersion, each journey offered a powerful opportunity to live out Gilmour’s mission in real and meaningful ways.
 
Here’s a look at where they went — and what they learned along the way.
 
Honduras Immersion Trip: March 15-22
During the first week of Spring Break, 17 students and three chaperones traveled to Honduras to be immersed in the culture of the Honduran people while learning about the life and legacy of Sr. Maria Rosa and Gilmour’s own, Mr. Tiho Teisl, two heroes who personified the Gilmour Mission. Camden, New Jersey Service Immersion: March 24-28
On Monday, March 24, a group of 12 students and two chaperones set off from Gilmour Academy on a five-day excursion to a new environment that, for many, was like nothing they had ever experienced before. Read about this incredible experience here.
 
 
 
Big Laurel Learning Center Service Immersion Trip: March 17-22
A group of 10 high school students (Grades 9-12) and two faculty chaperones embarked on a transformative service immersion trip to Big Laurel Learning Center in Kermit, West Virginia. Read about this transformative experience here.
