Gilmour Academy's competitive robotics team, Moonshots, competed in a regional qualifying event for the FIRST Technology Challenge (FTC) in Kirtland. Having just switched to FTC from another league, the team was hoping to place in a respectable rank among the 20-some competing teams. They exceeded expectations, finishing in sixth place and receiving Honorable Mention for the Design Award. Moonshots was also selected as one of the team captains in the finals. While they didn't advance beyond that, the team learned a ton. They're excited about their next competition in Kent and the team has been working feverishly to upgrade their systems to improve their performance.
