Girls Basketball

The varsity girls basketball team recorded an exciting victory in its home opener and first-ever North Coast League (NCL) game this past Saturday, defeating Walsh Jesuit 46-44. A late-run for the Lancers was capped by a floater from the paint by Megan Duffy '21 (pictured) with seven seconds remaining. Gilmour's defense altered the opponent's last play to ensure the Lancer victory. Annika Corcoran '19 led all scorers with 27 points, including six 3-pointers.
 
The freshman girls basketball team lost a close game to Walsh Jesuit 36-32 Leading scorers included Madeline Martino '22 and Angelina Lonardo '22 with eight and seven points, respectively. The junior varsity game was another close affair, with the Lancers earning a 52-47 win. Grace Terranova '22 had 11 points and Lauryn Stover '22 had 10. Defensively, Cooper Flowers '22 and Karah Henderson '22 controlled the paint, affecting many of Walsh’s shots.
 
 
Weekend Plans: The Lancers travel to Villa Angela-St. Joseph for a double header on Saturday, December 8. The junior varsity game tips off at 4 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 5:30 p.m. Please note, these game times have been updated since the release of the original schedule. Fans can purchase discounted presale tickets for $5 in the Gilmour Athletic Department all week during normal business hours.
