The varsity volleyball team had another week of tough opponents. The Lancers defeated No. 6 state-ranked Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin and then No. 14 state-ranked Lake Catholic, before dropping a very close match to Walsh Jesuit. Defensive specialist Kenzie O'Connor '19 (pictured) played well and helped the team pull above .500 overall on the season. Gilmour is now 10-9 overall and 4-5 in the North Coast League.

The junior varsity team had a successful outing, finishing fifth in the Cardinal JV Tournament. The Lancers earned their first wins of the season, defeating Grand Valley and Garfield Heights to go 2-1 in the event. Kylee Radigan '22 earned All-Tournament honors for her outstanding play at the net.

The freshman team is still looking for its first win of the year, but is showing great improvement with each match. Angelina Lonardo '22, Giana Lonardo '22 and Bella Lasecki '22 all gave great performances in matches against NDCL and Walsh.

Weekend Plans: The freshman team will compete in the Chardon Quad on Saturday at 9 a.m., but the rest of the Lancers are off until Tuesday, October 9 when they host state-ranked Lake Catholic for Senior Night. Freshman game begins at 4:30 p.m., followed by the junior varsity game at approximately 5:30 p.m. and the varsity match at approximately 6:30 p.m.
