The varsity volleyball team had one of its toughest weeks yet, taking on strong North Coast League (NCL) opponents Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin and Padua Franciscan in back-to-back games. On the road with NDCL, the Lancers lost the series in four games. Gilmour came home to welcome Padua to Lancer Gymnasium and fought hard for each point against the defending state champion Bruins, who currently rank No. 1 in the state poll. Emmy Klika '21 gave an outstanding effort and had a number of key digs in the match. Gilmour ranks No. 11 in the most recent Division II state coaches poll.
Weekend Plans: The Lancers head to nearby Mentor to compete in the Power Tournament, which is a two-day event that includes seven of the top-ranked teams in Ohio in Division I. If you're looking to see some of the best compete all in one place, then Mentor High School is the place to be this weekend.
