Baseball

The varsity baseball team ended its season with a Division II District Final loss to Chardon, 1-0. Ben DeMell ’21 (pictured) pitched a solid six innings, giving up only one run, but the Lancers were unfortunately unable to get on the board. The Lancers finish with a final record of 13-9 with a sectional championship and a district runner-up finish. Other highlights of the season included a four-game sweep in rivalry games against Hawken and University School, and big wins over DI opponents Mayfield and Midview. DeMell was the team's leader in batting average (.397) and ERA (1.18). He and Nick Christopher ’19 also tied for the lead in RBI (20) and home runs (2). On the mound, Owen Corcoran ’18 led the pitching staff with six wins.
 
The junior varsity baseball team ended with a record of 11-6 and at one point during the season, compiled a nine-game winning streak.
 
The reserve baseball team concluded with a record of 10-2 and had a 10-game winning streak.
