Gilmour Set to Host 24th Annual Miele Invitational
Saturday, May 5, Gilmour Academy will host the 24th Annual Miele Invitational for hundreds of track and field athletes.
The event is the product of founders Bill and Joanna Miele, who wanted to create a first-class meet to highlight every track and field event sanctioned by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) rather than just the relays. Their children, Cameron '94 and Erica '91, were quite active in athletics during their time at the Academy and the family has always had a great love for track and field. Their annual sponsorship of this meet is the family’s way of promoting Gilmour Academy and showing support for its track and field program.
The event will begin with the National Anthem sung by Arianna Mack '18 and a Lancer Senior Recognition Ceremony at noon, followed by the field events at 12:15 p.m. and the running events at 12:30 p.m.
