Join us for a special Tuesdays at Tudor concert: A Meet and Greet Performance with
Yaron Kohlberg, President and CEO of the Cleveland International Piano Competition.
Described as “the pianist with golden hands” by international media, Jerusalem-born and Israeli native Yaron Kohlberg is one of today’s top Israeli pianists and has won more than ten international prizes, including the second prize at the 2007 Cleveland International Piano Competition.
He has played in major halls in 40 countries spanning five continents, including Carnegie Hall, the Kremlin in Moscow, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Beethovenhalle in Bonn, Severance Hall in Cleveland, Salle Cortot and Les Invalides in Paris, the United Nations hall in Geneva, Bellas Artes in Mexico City, and the New Opera House in Oslo.
Mr. Kohlberg has arrived in Cleveland after spending the last few years traveling around the world, performing in various concerts and presenting master classes and workshops. He was also a part of the highly successful piano duo, Duo Amal, where he teamed up with friend Bishara Haroni.
Mr. Kohlberg, who speaks six languages, holds a graduate degree (with distinction) from the Buchmann-Mehta school of music of Tel Aviv University.
“Kohlberg showed an intuitive understanding of Schumann’s music, the fleeting sense of fancy, here light as a spider web and then crashing down with heavy-footed fury, both humorous and self-righteous.” – The Washington Post
“And when the music ends, if you’re not deeply moved by the depth of Kohlberg’s insight, you might want to check your pulse.” – NPR
The concert will take place at Tudor House (34001 Cedar Road, Gates Mills). The evening begins with a light reception at 6 p.m. and the concert will run from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to all, but seating is limited, so please RSVP below to reserve your place.
