Tuesdays at Tudor
is a concert series celebrating Gilmour Academy's commitment to the musical and fine arts programs. Thanks to the sponsorship and loyal generosity of Gilmour alumnus and Matthew P. Figgie '84, Figgie Capital and The Figgie Foundation, these world-class artists will be performing on a brand new Steinway grand piano. Through our partnership with Steinway Piano Gallery Cleveland, the Cleveland International Piano Competition and ArtsConnect, this concert series takes place in our historic Tudor House. We will be providing performances from renowned musicians for our entire Gilmour Family and the overall Cleveland community.
In December 2016, when three new Steinway pianos were delivered to Gilmour, the school began the process of becoming a Steinway Select K-12 School
. This unique distinction means that every single piano on Gilmour's campus will soon be replaced with a new Steinway & Sons grand piano. Gilmour Academy is the very FIRST private K-12 school in the Midwest and is only the EIGHTH school in the ENTIRE COUNTRY that has made this commitment to date. In June of 2017, two more Steinways were delivered to campus - a Steinway grand piano for the Chapel, and a Steinway Spirio grand piano to Tudor House. The purchase of these beautiful instruments was made possible through scheduled donations from Matthew P. Figgie ’84, Figgie Capital and The Figgie Foundation.
The Steinway Select K-12 designation is exceedingly prestigious and is only bestowed upon qualifying institutions that consist of kindergarten through 12th grade and is an extension of the All Steinway School honors that Steinway & Sons grants to the world's best colleges, universities, conservatories and schools of music.
