Girls Soccer Captures Historic Win

The varsity girls soccer team made history with its 2-1 overtime win over Hawken in the Division III District Championship on Thursday. No Gilmour girls soccer team has ever won a district championship. The Lancers have come as close as runner-up status on five occasions, but have never earned the title, which comes along with a bid to the regional tournament. Furthermore, the team improved to 18-1 on the season, which is the greatest number of wins ever recorded in a single season in program history. Congratulations to the team and best of luck in the regional tournament game on November 1 at 7 p.m. at Solon High School against Youngstown Cardinal Mooney.
