Culture Fair 2026

Figgie Field House was filled with conversation, curiosity and the sharing of stories on April 17 as Gilmour Academy hosted its annual Culture Fair. Organized by the Student Community Engagement Team, the event invited students, families, faculty and staff to highlight the backgrounds and experiences that shape our school community.

This year’s fair featured a smaller number of student-led booths, but what it lacked in size, it made up for in meaningful interaction. Each table offered a glimpse into a different culture through personal stories, traditions, artifacts and food, creating opportunities for authentic connection rather than simply observation.

Throughout the event, students and faculty moved from table to table, asking questions, listening closely and engaging in conversations that deepened their understanding of one another. The atmosphere encouraged participation and reflection, as attendees learned not just about cultures, but about the individuals within their own community.

At its core, the Culture Fair is about more than displays or presentations. It is an opportunity for students to share who they are and to be recognized by their peers. It also invites the broader community to listen, learn and celebrate those perspectives.

Thank you to the students who shared their stories and to the Student Community Engagement Team for their leadership in continuing this tradition. As the event evolves, it remains an important space for building connection and strengthening the sense of belonging that defines Gilmour Academy.
