National Human Rights Month Programming

December has been designated National Human Rights Month. This month and every month to follow, people in the US are encouraged to come together and stand up for equality, justice and the dignity of all humans. In continuing to educate the hearts as well as the minds of its students, Gilmour is recognizing National Human Rights Month with initiatives led by Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Ms. NaNetta Hullum. The program launched at the beginning of the month with daily videos presented in Convocation covering a range of human rights issues.
Middle and Upper School students and the entire Gilmour community are also invited to a virtual speaker presentation on human trafficking on December 14 at 6 p.m. Director of Anti-Human Trafficking and Advocacy Keyna Smith, MSSA, LSW, of the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, will help us gain an understanding of this form of modern-day slavery and learn ways to advocate as anti-human trafficking social justice leaders.
