Only two months into 2018 and the M.A.D. Club has already done so much! From donations to homeless shelters to holding a pancake breakfast and using the proceeds to purchase blankets for Cleveland’s homeless.
Josh Miavitz '20 donated 80 wool men's sweaters to M.A.D. Club, which were distributed to homeless shelters through Project Hope and St. Dominic Church.
Club members sorted the 300+ military-grade, water-repellant, flame-retardant blankets purchased with the proceeds from the club’s December pancake breakfast.
M.A.D. Club launched its own website, where visitors can learn more about service opportunities.
On Monday before school, students heard from St. Malachi Center’s volunteer coordinator Carl Cook. After hearing him talk about the impact of volunteering, members got to work, producing 192 brown-bag meals complete with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, water and a snack. Mr. Cook took the meals back to St. Herman’s House of Hospitality for distribution.
