Girls Varsity Basketball Wins First State Championship
Congratulations to the Gilmour varsity girls basketball team - the 2017 Division III state champion! The team earned the program’s first-ever state championship on Saturday, March 18 in a 56-54 victory over Versailles.
The road to the state championship included victories in the:
- Sectional finals vs. Wickliffe (77-27)
- District semifinals vs. Trinity (76-21)
- District championship vs. Lutheran West (72-31)
- Regional semifinals vs. Chippewa (68-47)
- Regional championship vs. Garrettsville Garfield (76-46)
- State semifinals vs. Columbus Africentric (65-54); set the record for the most three-pointers made in a state semifinal game with 11.
