College Counselor Receives Award for Work to Establish Committee

Earlier this month Tracy Stockard presented at her first National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) Conference.  Her topic, “When the Parent is More Ambitious than the Student,” was based on research conducted by Kaplan Test Prep.

She was presented with a special award by the Association of College Counseling in Independent Schools (ACCIS) for her work in establishing a Training and Support Committee for new college counselors in independent schools. As chair of the committee for three years, Stockard helped create and implement a pre-conference workshop for new college counselors and put together a series of monthly training calls on topics relevant to the profession.  For three years she was an inaugural member of the committee and for three years she was its chair.
