17 Gilmour Academy Student-Athletes Participate in NCAA Commitment and Junior Hockey Signing Ceremony

On Wednesday, April 26, Gilmour Academy hosted a NCAA Commitment and Junior Hockey Signing Ceremony in the Athletic Center to honor the 17 student-athletes making a pledge to continue their athletic careers beyond high school. Ten signed commitments to play a sport at the Division III level, one signed a National Letter of Intent to compete at the Division II level and another signed a National Letter of Intent to compete at the Division I level. Five of the students signed commitments to play junior hockey in preparation for college hockey. 

These student-athletes join their six classmates who signed Division I National Letters of Intent at two signing ceremonies held in November. 
  • Louka Babic ’23, of Kirtland, signed a commitment letter to wrestle at Division III Case Western Reserve University. Babic will major in biomedical engineering.
  • Haydenn Bouley ’23, of Buffalo, N.Y., signed with the CCHL Rockland Nationals in Rockland, Ontario.
  • Ziya Damas ’23, of Columbus, OH, signed a commitment letter to play ice hockey at Division III Western New England University in Springfield, Mass. Damas will major in elementary education and mathematics.
  • Logan DeWeese ’23, of Chagrin Falls, signed a commitment letter to play lacrosse at Division III Wittenberg University. DeWeese will major in business management.
  • Connor Fenstemacher ’23, of Cucamonga, Calif., signed with the NCDC Pueblo Bulls in Pueblo, Colo.
  • Dorjan Flowers ’23, of Richmond Heights,  signed a commitment letter to play football at Division III Otterbein University. Flowers will major in sports management.
  • Clark Furman ’23, of Regina, Canada signed with the SJHL Yorkton Terriers, based in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
  • Zachary Gaudette ’23, of Saint Marthe Sur Le Lac, Canada, signed with the CCHL Brockville Braves in Brockville, Ontario.
  • Sophie Healey ’23, of Kanata, Canada, signed a commitment letter to play women’s ice hockey for Division III Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. She plans to major in pre-law.
  • Sophia Johnson ’23, of Mayfield Heights, signed a National Letter of Intent to play women’s ice hockey at Division I University of Maine in Orono, Maine, where she plans to study nursing.
  • Will Lazzaro ’23, of Shaker Heights, signed a commitment letter to play football at Division III Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt. Lazzaro plans to major in pre-med.
  • Jacob Lowery ’23, of Lyndhurst, signed a commitment letter to play baseball at Division III Ohio Wesleyan University, where he will study business administration.
  • Adisa Molton II ’23, of South Euclid, signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Division II Lake Erie College, where he will study business. 
  • Hunter Sebulsky ’23, of Bedford, signed a commitment letter to play football at Division III Ohio Northern University. He plans to study mechanical engineering.
  • Triston Sherwood ’23, of Oceanside, Calif., signed with the NCDC Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights in Pittston, Penn.
  • Eli Swirsky ’23, of Solon, signed a commitment letter to compete in soccer at Division III Marietta College. He is undecided on his major.
  • Edith Tomasek ’23, of Hiram, signed a commitment letter to participate in track and field at Division III Catholic University of America, where she plans to study architecture.
