GILMOUR NAMED CLEVELAND CLINIC BANNER SCHOOL

Cleveland Clinic K-12 Education offers school programs designed to promote health and wellness, academic achievement and career preparedness for students in Grades K-12. This week, we received word from the Cleveland Clinic K-12 Education Director Bryan Pflaum that Gilmour had been selected as a 2019-2020 Cleveland Clinic Banner School. The award recognizes our “noteworthy success in leveraging community resources to advance student learning.” This distinction is earned by fewer than 24 percent of the 264 schools in 10 states that participated in the Cleveland Clinic K-12 Education school programs!

In his letter to Head of School Kathy Kenny, Pflaum talked about the programs the Cleveland Clinic offers and said, “It takes ambitious teachers and encouraging administrators, though, to deliver these opportunities to students.” Pflaum particularly emphasized the work of Ms. Katie Gallagher, Ms. Michele Kay, Ms.  Coreen Schaefer and Mrs. Susan Southard. He referenced the effort they invested in implementing the Judging Innovation and Worldwide Classroom® programs and said “the support you provided in the process demonstrates an exceptional commitment to student enrichment.”
