Saving the Best for Last

The 10th and final Steinway has arrived on campus! The Model D Concert Grand was personally selected at the Steinway Factory in Astoria, N.Y. by Head of School Kathy Kenny, Director of Institutional Advancement Ray Murphy, Fine and Performing Arts Department Chair David Kilkenney and Fine and Performing Arts instructor Caroline Vickers; and Ted Good and Catherine Good Brulport from Steinway Piano Gallery – Cleveland.

The new piano will be housed in the Carole and David D. Carr Music Ensemble Enclave in the brand new Lorraine and Bill Dodero Center for Performing Arts. Every piano on Gilmour’s campus is now a Steinway & Sons piano. Institutional Partnerships Consultant at Steinway & Sons Sally Coveleskie presented the Gilmour representatives with a special plaque recognizing the school’s official designation as a Steinway Select School during their trip to New York for the piano selection. Gilmour is the first private K-12 school in the Midwest to earn this distinction.

Many thanks to the late Matthew P. Figgie '84 and The Figgie Foundation for providing all 10 Steinways housed on Gilmour's campus.
