Seventh Grade “Caritas” Competition

Seventh graders are currently involved in a “Caritas” project and competition, which centers on charity as a theological virtue and our Christian duty. This project is a cross-disciplinary effort between religion and English class wherein students create persuasive presentations to demonstrate how a charity of their choice aligns with and upholds our Catholic and Gilmour, Holy Cross mission. Students explain why they are passionate about supporting this particular charity, and why Gilmour should be too. Students will vote on the top five presentations in English class. Those five will then present for the Middle School and faculty representatives, who will select the top three. The top three finalists will present for the Gilmour community at Convocation on Friday, December 7, and the community will vote on the winner. A donation will be made to the winning charity on behalf of the student and Gilmour Academy.
