Students Treated to Musical Delight this Morning

Students in all three divisions were treated to the sounds of the Dana Piano Trio this morning. The chamber music group, founded by three Youngstown State University professors - violinist Joseph Kromholz, cellist Kivie Cahn-Lipman and pianist Cicilia Yudha, performs and teaches around the U.S. and will make a debut at Carnegie Hall in March. The musicians hold degrees from many of the world’s most prestigious conservatories, including the Juilliard School, New England Conservatory, Cleveland Institute of Music and Oberlin Conservatory.

They performed for Middle and Upper School students during Convocation and then headed to the Lower School for another performance, complete with introductions to their three instruments. Both groups asked a number of insightful questions of the performers during the Q&A sessions that followed. One of the Lower School students even got the cellist to play a bit of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall!”
