Drama Club Heads to Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake
Fourteen members of the Drama Club took their annual trip to Niagara on the Lake to enjoy the offerings of the Shaw Festival. On Saturday night, the group was treated to a creatively staged performance at the Shaw's largest venue - The Festival Theater. This production of “The Magician's Nephew” moved quickly and seamlessly through an imaginary world populated by exquisitely costumed performers.
On Sunday, the group enjoyed “Henry the V” by William Shakespeare in a new location, The Jackie Maxwell Theater, where the play was performed in the round. Many of our students had never experienced this type of staging, and it added a real element of intimacy to the performance. Although the weather was not quite ideal, the weekend was still enjoyed by all.
