Lower School Students Welcomed their Grandparents and Special Friends to School

Last Friday, the Lower School students rolled out the red carpet as they welcomed 200 grandparents and special friends to campus. The morning began with a fantastic musical performance in the Dominican Dining Room. From there, students brought their guests back to their classrooms where each grade enjoyed different activities. Some of the highlights included making portraits of their grandparents, sharing the work they’ve been doing in class, interviewing grandparents and creating an acrostic poem about them, showing guests a PowerPoint they created about scientific kingdoms, making a Top 10 list about why they love their grandparents, completing logic problems and competing in a Kahoot game, and playing a circle game with each person adding a piece to a story to complete a funny, silly masterpiece.
It was a fantastic morning at the Lower School. The grandparents and special friends had so much fun seeing the children in their school environment and the students loved the chance to show off their school and learn more about their grandparents/friends as they completed the activities together.
