Girls Basketball Begins Quest for OHSAA Division II State Championship

In its first game of the postseason, the Lancers handily defeated Lake Catholic 63-20 to earn a sectional championship and advance to the district portion of the tournament. Naz Hillmon '18 led all scorers with 21 points, while Sarah Bohn '18 (pictured) and Athena Hocevar '21 each contributed nine points. Then in the district semifinal round, Gilmour connected on 13 3-pointers to secure a 71-28 win against Villa Angela-St. Joseph. Eight Lancers scored in the game with Bohn scoring a team-best 18 points. Annika Corcoran '19 added 14 points, as Maddie Puletti '20 chipped in 11 points. Gilmour is now 21-3 overall headed into the district finals against Perry tonight - March 1 - at 7 p.m. at Lakeside High School. Fans may purchase presale tickets in the Athletic Department up until 3 p.m. on Thursday. Tickets are $6 for adults/seniors and $4 for students.
