Varsity A Hockey

As of the start of this week, varsity A boys hockey sat in first place in the Great Lakes Hockey League (GLHL) with seven points and a league record of 3-1. The team's only loss was in overtime this past week to Holy Name. In that game, the Lancers were tied at two at the end of regulation before the visiting Green Wave scored in OT to win the game 3-2. Kessel Richards '21 scored for Gilmour on a power play with assists from Evan Enrich '19 and Charlie Tuggey '21 (pictured). Tuggey also assisted on a goal by Tony Iacobell '20Jac Lymn '20 stopped 25-of-28 shots in net. In the team's other game this past weekend, Gilmour defeated St Edward, 3-1. Jake Howse '20 scored on a power play on an assist from Richards. Dominic Casamatta '19 also netted a power play goal from David Zaryki '20 and the final score was by Dylan Wharton '19 from Justin Evans '20 and Eamonn Mulkern '19Toby Herlong '21 recorded 22 saves in net. 
 
Weekend Plans: The Lancers will head to Culver Academy in Indiana for an eight-team tournament this weekend and will open the round robin portion with games against Buffalo Grove, Culver and St. Ignatius.
