Varsity A Hockey

It was an excellent week for Varsity A hockey as the team went 4-0-1, earning a Cold Turkey Tournament Championship over the weekend before beating rival University School early in the week. Then against St. Francis, last year's state runners-up, Gilmour scored in the final minute of the game to earn the 1-0 victory. Charlie Valenti '19 (pictured) had the goal with the assists from Preston Watkiss '20 and Kessel Richards '21Jac Lymn '20 recorded seven saves in net. Gilmour then went on to easily defeat Findlay 6-0 with Toby Herlong '21 recording eight saves. In the championship game, Gilmour won 5-4 in overtime after coming back from a 4-2 deficit with five minutes remaining. The Lancers tied it up with 30 seconds left in regulation before Valenti sealed the victory in OT on assists from Dominic Casamatta '19 and Eamonn Mulkern '19. Lymn totaled 15 saves.

On Wednesday, Gilmour hosted that team from down the road in a Battle of SOM. It was an exciting game that remained scoreless after one period before the Lancers began the scoring. Gilmour goals were scored by Mulkern, Watkiss, Evan Enrich '19 and Casamatta as GA won 4-3.
