The varsity football team improved to 9-0 overall and 4-0 in the North Coast League (NCL) White Division with last week's win against Villa Angela-St. Joseph 46-6. The win secured a conference championship for the Lancers, who are in their inaugural season in the league. CJ Charleston '19 had 23 carries for 212 yards with four touchdowns. Other TDs came from Connor Krebs '20 (83 yards), Jack Krebs '19 (four yards) and Nathan Reichard '20 (27 yards). Defensively, Jack Kosar '19 had a solid performance that included 11 tackles and five tackles for a loss. Aidan Muchnicki '20 had seven tackles and Michael Holleran '19 (pictured) had five tackles. Jack Krebs also had an interception. 
 
Gilmour is currently ranked No. 4 in Region 17 with one game remaining. The top eight teams in the region qualify for the postseason with the top four earning the right to host a first-round playoff game. The Lancers are also ranked No. 6 in the Division V state poll and No. 10 in the News-Herald Top of the Crop.
 
Weekend Plans: The Lancers play their final game of the regular season tonight, October 26, at St. Thomas Aquinas at 7 p.m.
