Middle School Baseball Bats are Hot

The Middle School baseball team went 2-1 last week. The Lancers defeated Cornerstone Christian 11-1. An eight-run fourth inning included some nice hitting and a key bunt by Kevin Flaherty '24. Fine pitching performances were given by Eric Anton '22 and Nathan Flaherty '22. Key player Patrick Miklus '22 (pictured) stepped up at first base, but unfortunately his season came to an end with a broken wrist. He had a nice season up to that point and will be missed. Gilmour went on to lose to rival Hawken 11-5, which was only the team's second loss of the season, before rebounding with a nice 18-1 win against rival University School. The Lancers recorded a 13-run third inning that was highlighted by a triple by Dean Stephens '23 and a grand slam by Anton.
