Girls Track & Field Also Has Outstanding Week

The varsity girls track and field team had an outstanding week, beginning with a North Coast League White Division Championship and ending with a 24th Annual Miele Invitational runner-up finish. At the NCL Meet, the team racked up 186 points after sweeping all four relays and winning nine individual events. Mackenzie Palinski '21 won the shot and discus, while Annika Corcoran '19 (pictured), who was named News-Herald Player of the Week, won the long jump. Madison Olsen '20 won the 400 in an exciting photo finish. Katie Engle '19 turned in the top Division III time in the state to win the 1600. She also won the 3200. Izzy Greene '18 was the 800 champ and Ava Thomas '18 won the 100.

At the Miele Invitational, Lancers took first in three individual events, including Corcoran's personal record in the long jump that was just a half inch away from the school record. Engle was the 1600 champ and Alannah Barton '19 earned first in the 3200. Enjoy these photos from the meet.
