Baseball Program Cruising

The varsity baseball team went 2-1 during the past week to improve to 7-5 on the season. The team's first win was against West Geauga as pitcher Ben DeMell '21 fired a five-inning, one-hit shutout to lead the Lancers to a 10-0 victory. The second win came against Hawken when John Ramski '18 (pictured) and Nick Christopher '19 hit the team’s first home runs of the year to lead the Lancers to a 9-6 victory. Currently, Jack Krebs '19 remains the offensive leader with an average of .333. He is also first in RBI with nine. On the mound, Owen Corcoran '18 is the team leader in wins with three, while Logan Wright '18 has an ERA of 1.44 followed by DeMell at 1.80.  
 
Gilmour earned a No. 3 seed in the Jefferson District. The team earned a first-round bye and will host a sectional final game on May 9 at 5 p.m.against the winner of the Hawken vs. Harvey game.
 
The JV team did not play last week.
 
The Reserve team continued its undefeated season with a 19-1 win against Open Door Christian.
