Boys Track & Field Putting Up Some Big Numbers

The boys track & field team began the week winning the Harvey Tri Meet with a score of 76 points. The Lancers defeated host Harvey (42) and Wickliffe (62). Andrew Sieminski ’18 won both the discus and high jump. Other notable performers included Dylan Henry ’18 (pictured) with a first-place finish in the 100 and CJ Charleston ’19, who placed first in the long jump with a leap of 22'2" - just two inches shy of the school record. He also finished second in the 100. Tyler Clark ’19 won the 800 and also competed with the winning 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams.

The team then completed the week with a short-handed squad at the Big Ox Meet. The Lancers went up against a strong Division I and II field, finishing seventh out of 17 teams. Those earning points for Gilmour included Henry who won the 100 with both a school and meet record time of 10.75. Clark won the 800 as Sieminski was second in the discus with a personal-best 141 feet, while also finishing sixth in the shot. Connor Gerspacher ’19 was fourth in the 3200 with a personal-best time of 10:19, while Henry-Claude Madiba ’18 also earned a fourth place finish in the 400. Alec Marusic ’18 was sixth in the pole vault. Finally, one of the team's best performances of the day came by way of the 4x800-meter relay in which Clark, Tim Diemer ’19, Madiba and Gerspacher finished first with a time of 8:33 to currently rank second in the state at the Division III level.
