Senior Parent College Session 101 and Lunch

COLLEGE 101 – PARENT SESSION AND LUNCH
Wednesday, March 13, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., Athletic Center

The Gilmour Academy Women’s Club would like to invite all senior parents to a College 101 session, which will include a panel discussion and lunch.

That afternoon, the senior class will be participating in a workshop called College 101 to help prepare them for college life. The program, sponsored by the Gilmour Women’s Club, will provide seniors the opportunity to learn valuable information from professionals on topics such as legal rights and responsibilities of college students, campus safety, money management suggestions and life on a college campus.

During the Parent Session from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., the parents will hear brief presentations from the same speakers the students will hear from in the afternoon. After the presentations, we will have a panel discussion, which will include the speakers and parents of recent alumni. Senior parents will have an opportunity to ask questions they may have about their student leaving for college.

WOMEN'S CLUB VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR COLLEGE 101

The Women’s Club is in need of parent volunteers for College 101 on March 13 when, together with the College Counseling Department, the Women’s Club will be hosting College 101 for the senior class. College 101 will provide seniors the opportunity to learn valuable information from professionals on topics such as legal rights and responsibilities of college students, campus safety, money management suggestions and life on a college campus. We are in need of several parent volunteers to supervise the groups of students as they rotate to the various speakers.
