At the heart, Gilmour students of any age are recognized as people on a journey of faith, effective communicators, analytical and reflective thinkers, effective problem-solvers, self-directed and curious learners, collaborative team members and, most importantly, morally responsible individuals.

From our youngest students enrolled in our early-childhood Montessori program (one of only six in Ohio to achieve accreditation from the American Montessori Society) to our Upper School’s graduating class, all — including faculty — are involved in service, giving back to the community through mission trips, volunteer trips to food banks, senior citizen facilities and homeless shelters, and tutoring at inner-city schools. Yearly grade-level retreats promote team-building through activities such as challenging ropes courses.

For the 15 percent of upper school students who live on-campus — the young men and women hailing from an average of five nations and 15 states — Gilmour’s boarding program provides an additional level of support and nurturing to prepare students academically, spiritually and personally for the challenges and joys of life in our 21st-century, global community.

According to a 2013 article in the Educational Studies journal, a coed environment “dramatically improves” communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills over a single-gender education. Weekly faculty-led advisory groups of eight to 10 students provide opportunities for personalized guidance, mentoring and relationship-building, motivating students to reach for and achieve their true potential.

We are actively seeking students who will thrive in Gilmour’s unique holistic, independent environment. We look forward to welcoming you onto our campus and into our community.
